According to Steph's calculations, "Sucker," at its current length of 88 parts, is as long as 12 novels.

Which makes me wonder how "Living" compares, because, as of now, "Living" is still longer.

"I Need You Tonight" - 4 parts
"Boy Lead the Way" - 2 parts
"Not Easy" - 4 parts
"No One" - 7 parts
"Rest in Peace"
"Destiny" - 13 parts
"Together" - 20 parts
"Where You Belong" - 69 parts
"Slices of Life" - 54 short stories

Dude, I've written slash novels.

Is this a sign of devotion or insanity?

Who? [Mar. 11th, 2007|05:56 pm]
SPOILER ALERT. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ "LIVING" AND/OR "SUCKER," AND THINK THAT YOU WILL SOMEDAY, DON'T READ THE REST OF THIS POST, BECAUSE IT GIVES THINGS AWAY.

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

It just struck me, how a question that simple shouldn't be that complicated.

Regarding "Living," Sarah asked, in the comments to my previous post, "Who do you slash?"

My initial response was, Backstreet/*NSYNC/98 Degrees. Because those are the people involved in "Living."

But, really, who do I slash in "Living?"

There's JC/Justin. Then Nick/Drew. Then Nick L./Jeff. Then Nick/Drew/Brian. Then AJ/Lance. Then Chris/Howie. Then Kevin/AJ. Then Joey/Lance. And there's always that Nick L./Drew thing, that leads into Nick/Brian/Drew/Jeff/Nick. Later, in the bonus round, you get a random Aaron/Ashley story, and we practically all went into JC/Lance territory somewhere around "Where You Belong."

In response to Sarah's question, I also said that "Sucker" is Backstreet/*NSYNC/O-Town. And, in some ways, since there's a lot of group mentality, it's just that simple.

But if you get into it, you find: AJ/Joey, AJ/Justin, AJ/Dan, Brian/Chris, Brian/Lance, Brian/Jacob, Howie/Lance, Howie/JC, Howie/Erik, Kevin/Justin, Kevin/Chris, Kevin/Trevor, Nick/JC, Nick/Joey, Nick/Ashley, Chris/Trevor, JC/Erik, Joey/Ashley, Justin/Dan, and Lance/Jacob. Plus Brian/Justin and Nick/Justin. And you know there's going to be more.

It's just stupid. My problem in "Living," though, was that I couldn't just leave people alone. It was supposed to be a JC/Justin story, because JC's hot and I wanted to write about him. But then there was a random Drew/Nick note at the party, and I was like, okay, yeah, let's go there. But that had a Brian backstory, so I had to bring Brian into it. And I like Nick L. and Jeff, and I didn't want them to be lonely and left behind, so I put them together. And I love AJ, AJ's hot, AJ shouldn't be left out in the cold, so he needed someone, and then Chris started looking at Howie...

With "Sucker," at least, I started off knowing that I had 15 people and 20 pairings. Nothing's snuck up on me, so far.

Although you guys have noticed that weird Chris/Jacob thing, right? That's not just me?
