Which shows do y'all watch?
When I first saw commercials for "Raines," I was like, okay, "Monk" meets "Medium," I can skip that. (I like "Monk," but I never actually watch it; I tried "Medium," but I couldn't hang.) But it's Jeff Goldblum, and I like him, so I thought, okay, I'll try it, I can be open-minded.
I taped the premiere last week, and finally watched it today. I think it's okay; I'm going to give it a few more episodes. It's good to see Malik Yoba and Nicole Sullivan. I like how the dead girl shifted around into different people (different personalities, change in voice, different hair and outfits and mannerisms) as he figured out who she was. That's something I haven't really seen before. And, at the end, he actually cried. Number one, I personally haven't watched Jeff Goldblum cry before; number two, Kim and I actually had to sit down and discuss, do leading male detectives ever cry on these shows? Really? Like that, the way he did, like a normal person?
So I'm going to give "Raines" a shot. It looks pretty victim-oriented, which was what I enjoyed about the first season of "Close to Home." ("Close to Home" underwent some radical changes from the first to second seasons; it's much harder to watch now.)
I watch "Top Model" out of habit more than anything else. I really do enjoy staring at Jay Manuel, though. If it weren't for Joey (who's totally going to win), I'd avoid "Dancing with the Stars."
What do I watch? "Heroes." "How I Met Your Mother," for Barney. "The Class," because I like it, although I'm still working out my opinions on their portrayal of their gay characters. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," because I like Goran and Eames; I like their characters and their partnership. "My Name Is Earl" and "The Office." "Ghost Whisperer," because I like Jim, and because Kim loves it, although I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. It's hard to watch shows without wanting to rewrite them.
I loved "Everybody Hates Chris," it was one of the best shows on TV, it had uncannily real moments that I rarely ever get, but I lost track of when it comes on. |
