"In This Land"
Someday, hopefully soon, you have to tell us how you came up with this story. I need to know how in the world you came up with this world that feels so real! It's amazing. Is this what you were doing when you took that year long break from Living? If so then it was worth it.

I finished "Living" years before I started ITL. ITL began with a simple conversation between me and Diamond. We came up with the concept of an eighth brother, and everything rolled from there.
Diamond and I talked about who the Seven Siblings were, came up with names and colors, discussed suitors, gods, belas, the Anorian calender, etc. We put the books in order - - which Sibling's story will come when - - but we've shuffled that a few times since then.
Once I had names and a setting, it was just a matter of writing.
It looks like I started writing "In This Land" on September 29th of 2006, and started posting it on November 1st. Not sure when I really started thinking about it, but I don't remember it being very long before that. Once I committed to writing it, it was only a matter of hammering out the details before I got started.
